Crowns

Patients Receive Custom Crowns When you have a large area of decay on your tooth, a traditional filling may not work. Dr. Taxin will likely recommend a crown, which covers the remaining tooth structure and restores the tooth's shape. Also called a cap, a crown strengthens your tooth against further damage. We use an all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, or gold crown, depending on the location of the tooth.

You will visit our office over two appointments to receive your custom crown. At the first appointment, Dr. Taxin will prepare the affected area, take a mold of your tooth, and fit you with a temporary. After your permanent crown arrives from the dental lab, you will return for final placement.
