Local Dentist Completes Advanced Training Becoming A Master Aesthetic DentistFor a lot of people, a beautiful white smile can be achieved in a matter of a few weeks instead of years. This can be done through a conservative technique that reshapes the teeth and fits them with porcelain laminates that are metal-free, and look and fell like the real thing. Many people can now improve their smiles without the necessity of braces. These natural looking restorations can create the perfect smile that may be desired by many... instantly! A local dentist, Dr. Paul S. Taxin has recently completed post-graduate training at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in Nevada. Dr. Taxin completed the Comprehensive Aesthetic Reconstruction program and studied under the world-renowned Dr. William Dickerson, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. While at the Institute, Dr. Taxin underwent intensive training including completing a complex case on a live patient under the direction of teachers. To qualify to complete this advanced level of training, Dr. Taxin had to complete several other courses building up to this one. Dr. Taxin is one of the few dentists from New Rochelle, NY that has completed a program that teaches these skills. Dr. Taxin's commitment to excellence is emphasized by undergoing this training to provide patients with only the best restorations and care possible. By undergoing this training, Dr. Taxin has achieved the clinical ability that few dentists in the country are even aware exist. ONLY IN AMERICAIDEAS, TRENDS, AND INTERESTING BITS FROM ALL OVER Something to Smile AboutHave you noticed lately that people seem happier, more confident, and, well, just a bit more likeable? It could be because of the latest addition to our grooming regimen – teeth whitening. In the last five years, in-office teeth bleaching has more than tripled, according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists. And sales of over-the-counter teeth whitening strips, swabs, gels and pastes have increased 800 percent. “People look at bleaching like getting their hair colored,” says Wynn Okuda, a cosmetic dentist in Honolulu. But, just like with a dye job, the gray comes back, so preserving those pearly choppers is an outgoing task. Whitening, though, is about much more than vanity, says Okuda. “It makes people smile, and smiling makes you feel happier on the inside.” So praise the Lord – and pass the Pepsodent. |
